How to Get Rebooked by a Venue
BY 035 PROMOTIONS
Good morrow my rowdy rabble of rambunctious rapscallions. Music is a key to the best things you can experience. Music can open your mind to new possibilities and change how you see the world.
From our recent perspective of helping other bands to get on stage and be seen, it has emphasised the effort that is needed from every member of each band, venue and promoter. In today's market gigs can be cancelled because of a lack of ticket sales. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to talk to other people, to share your social media, to be that guy on the street corner handing out fliers and getting ignored by hundreds of people just walking by. This is something Bruce does for the events. There is a lot of growth on our side to bring better efficiency and visibility to all our efforts.
The key to getting a better audience and increasing your fan base is to never stop. Band rehearsals and playing on stage are great, but it's the actions in between that determine success. We have worked with over 40 bands since we started our team, and TEAM is a key word here. When you go to a venue or take part in an event there needs to be teamwork from all people involved. The venue has the most authority, then the promoter/booking agent, followed by the performers. There will be times you play a venue multiple times, and each time they will have a list of requirements. It is always best to listen to those requirements, even if you are there frequently. It is a big turn off for a booking agent to speak to band members and tell them these requirements, only to be met with a snippy remark and arrogance. You may well find that you are unable to work with a booking agent again if you come across as ungrateful or fail to respect the venue. Any rules not followed will cause the booking agent to be penalised, which will force them to adjust how they handle bookings in the future.
ABOUT 035 PROMOTIONS
We are 035 Promotions and we have worked with bands and musicians for a very long time. Our aim is to get new bands extra coverage and put them on stage in front of an audience. We can help with contacting a venue on your behalf and getting other bands to join the event.
